The Egg Drop Experiment

Last week we had a class activity experiment, where we were asked to build an egg protection device in ten minutes, out of 8 straws and 2 feet of tape, and then drop the egg from 10 feet without breaking it.
We were five people in our team and worked perfect together. We had developed a few alternative strategies, such as building a nest for the egg or making four legs to protect the egg, but then we decided in wrapping the egg across and along with the straws and the tape we had available. We all get along with each other, one person hold the egg, another person was wrapping the egg with the straws, someone else put the tape, and we finished the project in time. We weren't successful, because the egg cracked, just a little bit, but it did crack.
Even though we lost, I was very proud of our team because we worked great together, and I know that we will do a better job next time.

We had a similar plan about building a type of nest for the egg but the execution didn't help.

It's amazing that you had time to develop alternative strategies. Out group didn't really take that into consideration but we both ended up with the same result.

I thought this was a good management exercise and showed me that I have a lot to learn about working in groups.

Well it seems like you guys did a good job in term of team work even though you were not successful. A lot of the teams had problems with that small little crack the professor was able to spot. Better luck next time.
