My Management Idea
By Sanda Tike

There is nothing more exacting than
Working together to accomplish a goal,

There is nothing more powerful than
Making the right decisions and achieving performance,

There is nothing more effective than
Managing your own time and getting things done,

But there is something more important
“BEING ALIVE.”

Communication via Blog

I think that the blog was a brilliant idea, a good way of communication and learning. It helps me to focus more on class activities, on subject in general, and in the same time to improve my learning and my creativity. Even thought sometimes I don’t have time to “breath”, since it was required as part of our class assignment, I tried to “manage” my time and get it done on time.
The professor has an amazing style of teaching which makes the class more interesting, and keeps us focus.
I will definitely keep the blog and try to post as many experiences and thoughts as I can and whenever is possible.
Thank you professor Kurpis!

It is amazing how this test can describe your personality. I do have this kind of personality, is true, I am not make it up.

"The power of Vision

The movie “The Power of Vision” we saw in our class was very interesting. That is right our future depend a lot on our vision and also in our actions, because” vision coupled with action can make things happen. “We all have a dream of great and successful future, the vision inspires people to create this dream, but it is very important to make a decision and act, to develop the dream and to achieve a successful future and succeed our goals; however ‘vision without action is just a dream.” As an example, I came from another country for this reason, to fulfill my goals, to get a better future and a better life.

Decision Making

It is difficult to get to a decision and satisfy a large group of people, it is always someone who is not in your side, but I couldn’t believe it is that hard. We were asked in the MGT class to come to a decision about our test, but in order to get “whatever we asked for” we had to agree all of us 100%, and we had a lot of trouble, however we were able to come to a conclusion by the end of the class. We were all “happy” we got the curve and the chance to drop the lower grade.

The Egg Drop Experiment

Last week we had a class activity experiment, where we were asked to build an egg protection device in ten minutes, out of 8 straws and 2 feet of tape, and then drop the egg from 10 feet without breaking it.
We were five people in our team and worked perfect together. We had developed a few alternative strategies, such as building a nest for the egg or making four legs to protect the egg, but then we decided in wrapping the egg across and along with the straws and the tape we had available. We all get along with each other, one person hold the egg, another person was wrapping the egg with the straws, someone else put the tape, and we finished the project in time. We weren't successful, because the egg cracked, just a little bit, but it did crack.
Even though we lost, I was very proud of our team because we worked great together, and I know that we will do a better job next time.

Time Management

One of my biggest management problem is that I can't manage my time. Either I am not very efficient in managing my own time or wanted to get done too many things in a short period of time.During the week my day usually starts at 7 AM and ends around 11 PM. I hardly have time for study and homework, which I usually do it during the weekend. That means I have no weekends for myself.
I've been trying to make list "to do", but it didn't help me.

Hello!

Hi there, my name is Sanda, I live in Queens, originally from Romania (Transylvania), came to US in 2001. I am married and have a beautiful 4 years old daughter (Madeline). I decided to go to college, even though is kind of hard for me as a foreign, because I believe that beside family, education is the most important thing in our life.
My major is Accounting, have experience in this field and Associates Degree in Accounting, minor Psychology-Junior at Baruch. I am not working right now, but I am looking for an internship. I am taking five courses this semester: Macroeconomics, Psychology, Sociology, Philosophy, and Management.
I love reading, traveling, meeting new people and learning about their culture, and also have a passion for cooking. I am a very active person with a great sense of humor. I believe that we should enjoy our life because the life is kind of short.
I am a member of the Child Care program at CUNY (Parent Association Club), a program that helps parent students. If anyone has kids between 2.5 -5 years old, and is interested in Child Care Center, please do not hesitate to ask me, because this is an amazing program for kids. Looking Forward to meet new frends.
